Location: Sunny beach resort is situated on the coast of a bay and is 35 km northeast of Bourgas and 100 km south of Varna. Practically, the resort occupies the entire territory stretching from the village of Vlas to the north and the town of Nessebar to the south. The forest which surrounds the resort and the breeze make the days and the nights notably fresh and pleasant. The beautiful sand - dunes on the beach that is 6 km long and over 100 m wide, lend it a marvelous charm. Sunny beach is the biggest world - famous Bulgarian resort. The resort is rich in entertainment facilities such as bowling, surfing, mini golf, tennis, cycling, archery practice, water skiing, etc. There is also an aqua park where you can spend unforgettable time. There are many opportunity for sports: surfing, water skis and parachutes, hang-gliding and banana, sailing, yachts, paddle boats, cutters, scooters, rowboats, tennis courts, beach volleyball, playing grounds, mini-golf, skittle alley, bowling, riding ground, fitness halls, sports tournaments for amateurs and professionals. A genuine children's paradise - plenty of fun and games, children pools, slides, carting, Rolba water slide, inflatable trampoline, sport schools. History: The resort's construction began back in communist times, in 1958. Construction works began at a site, where two old wells supplying Nessebar with water in ancient times and during the Middle Ages, had been.
Places of Interest: The village of St. Vlas and the Elenite holiday city are situated just a few kilometers away from Sunny Beach. The forest along the Hadzhiiska River and the dunes stretching between the road and the resort are very attractive to naturelovers. The picturesque town of Nessebar is also extremely close to Sunny Beach, as its newly built houses to the north almost merge with the resort. Noteworthy, lots of excursions in the country and abroad are organised for holiday-makers and tourists during the weekends or at the end of their holidays. Not far from Sunny Beach is located the beautiful Emine cape.
Catering: The hotel restaurants are three categories - deluxe, high and medium. Apart from them, there are plenty of other restaurants with different types of cuisine and entertainment. Some of the more famous restaurants are as follows: Chuchura (The Spout), Neptune, Hanska Shatra (Khan’s Tent), Variety Show Bar, Strandzhanski Kolibi (Strandzha Huts), Magoura, Ribarska Hizha (Fisherman’s Hut), etc. The Vyaturna Melnitsa Restaurant (Windmill) and Fregatata Restaurant (The Frigate) are attractive with their buildings made of wood and the marvelous cuisine and programs. There are lots of private restaurants, refreshment stalls, shops. The prices are high but the supply and the quality of the products are beyond any doubt.
Transport: There is a local transport in the resort – mini-train by which you can travel from the one end of the ten-kilometre beach to the other end. There is a regular bus transport from Nessebur and Bourgas to Slanchev Bryag, plenty of private minibuses, route and ordinary taxis, water transport to Nessebur and Bourgas. The ticket prices are moderate because of the competition and the flow of many tourists.
